Detectives from the Mong Kok District Crime Squad are currently treating the incident as assault occasioning actual bodily harm, a serious offense under Hong Kong’s Offences Against the Person Ordinance (Cap. 212), which carries a maximum penalty of three years in prison.
The savage attack reportedly took place in mid-October at Golden Chicken Square in Mong Kok. Sources familiar with the investigation suggest the violence stemmed from a dispute involving money and relationship conflicts among the parties, who were acquainted. At least seven girls, all under the age of 18, were present during the confrontation, with two to three leading the aggressive assault. The severity of the beating reportedly caused the victim to lose consciousness for approximately 30 minutes. Alarmingly, no one present immediately contacted emergency services or police.

A second assailant soon joined the attack, accusing the victim of kissing a male acquaintance before delivering repeated open-hand blows, headshots, and knee strikes. The attackers periodically left and re-entered the small space, resuming their assault each time. The victim, visibly distressed and sobbing, ultimately offered no resistance, only pleading for her earrings not to be pulled, while covering her face and head. Even when witnesses verbally attempted to de-escalate the situation, they were reportedly silenced by others, emphasizing the determination of the group to conceal the crime.
